Sterndrive Marine Growth Internal Removal System.
If you are a weekend boat user, your sterndrive, no matter how good your painted your drive with Trailux anti-faulting paint, will develop some marine grows inside your water passage. It is a hard type ceramic shell which can't be remove by anything but an acid. It is very hard to see since it accumulates slightly above the plastic intake grill. If neglected, it will block the flow of water to your engine. On a low RPM it might not be so noticeable, but going a little faster, it a major issue. I build this tool because north Atlantic is rife with aggressive barnacle growth due to the warming water. Time and time again, I had to find the way to clean this water passage. There are other passage in your drive for exhaust gas. But due to the soot deposits on the walls, nothing is stupid enough to grow there. I think you be much happier to know that your water intake is clean using this device once per year on the ground. I do.
How it works;
The operation is simple: Attach our tool to your already purchased rubber muffs. Install muffs over the plastic intake orifice with our tool attached (see picture) Use stainless steel chain attached to the funnel over your sterndrive to anchor the chain to the trim piston of the drive's opposite side. Check the blue valve to be in the vertical position. Check the funnel's blue valve to be open as well. Add zebra muscle removal acid on to the funnel. Then add exact amount of fresh water to the funnel making the mixture inside the drive's water passage 50/50. (read nstructions on the acid bottle). Wait 45 minutes. Turn lower blue valve to the horizontal position to empty the acid from the a sterndrive. Done!
