Our Role in the Marine Ecosystem

At 9xMarine, we operate as an independent graphic design studio specializing in the aftermarket restoration of marine vessels. We provide a critical service to the boating community: the reproduction of obsolete graphics for private property maintenance.

The Reality of Marine Restoration

A common disconnect exists between corporate trademark enforcement and the physical reality of boat ownership. To maintain the structural integrity of a fiberglass hull, the gelcoat must periodically be sanded, buffed, and refinished. This process necessitates the removal of all original graphics.

Because many Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) do not maintain an inventory of decals for models older than five to ten years, boat owners are often left with two choices:

Leave their high-value asset devalued and "blank."
Seek a professional restoration studio to remaster the original aesthetics.

9xMarine bridges this gap. In many cases, manufacturers themselves direct their customers to specialized studios like ours when they can no longer fulfill parts requests for vintage or out-of-production models.

Trademark & Intellectual Property Statement

Nominative Fair Use: 9xMarine uses manufacturer names and logos strictly for identificatory purposes. We use these marks only to describe which vessel our restoration graphics are compatible with. This constitutes "Nominative Fair Use" under trademark law, as the product (the boat) cannot be readily identified without mention of the brand.
Non-Affiliation: 9xMarine is not an authorized dealer, agent, or representative of any boat manufacturer. We do not claim any affiliation with, or endorsement by, the brands featured in our restoration archive.
Artistic Remastering: Our graphics are not "copies" of factory stock. They are 3D-illustrated remasters created in our studio to provide 21st-century UV protection and depth that often exceeds the original factory specifications.
Service for Owners: We provide these graphics as a service to the individual boat owner for the express purpose of repairing and maintaining their private property.

We respect the intellectual property rights of all manufacturers. If you are a legal representative of a brand and believe our restoration service conflicts with your corporate guidelines, we invite a professional dialogue.

Our goal is to support your brand’s legacy by ensuring that older models on the water continue to look pristine and well-maintained, reflecting positively on the manufacturer’s reputation for longevity.

Note to Legal Counsel: Before issuing a takedown, we encourage you to consult your customer service or parts department regarding their ability to provide 15+ year-old OEM decals to your loyal boat owners. We are here to help your customers stay proud of the brand they bought.
